Description

BK30 Series overview

BK30 is a series of ultra-low-noise, optocoupler-enhanced linear voltage regulators that use Polaris Semiconductor’s patented circuit topology. Built around the premium LT3045 LDO and integrated with our high-efficiency optocoupler chips, these devices deliver best-in-class noise and PSRR performance while achieving efficiencies 1.2× to >2× higher than conventional LDOs.

The BK30 series is available in a range of input and output configurations to address diverse application requirements. Available output voltage ranges include 0–2 V, 2–4 V, and 4–6 V, all with adjustable settings within their respective ranges. During optocoupler-enhanced operation, the input voltage requirement exceeds the output voltage by a margin determined by the optocoupler configuration. Product codes ending with “V” feature configurable optocoupler settings via board-level pin connections. For maximum versatility, all BK30 devices can operate as traditional LDOs through a simple two-pin short.

Base LDO: LT3045. Every device can also be operated as a conventional LDO by shorting two pins.

  1. All devices are adjustable down to Vout = 0 V.
  2. Iin is typical input current after device turn-on.
  3. Product IDs ending in “V” are configurable for one of two input-voltage ranges, selectable via board-level pin connections.
BK30 power-supply rejection ratio versus frequency: PSRR exceeds 120 dB around 1 kHz and remains above 100 dB from 10 Hz to roughly 10 kHz, rolling off at higher frequencies.
BK30 — PSRR vs. frequency: >120 dB near 1 kHz.
